Nova Scotia invests $4.5M to add 77 child care spaces in Lunenburg
The Lunenburg Day Care Centre is receiving about $4.5 million from the Province of Nova Scotia to expand its facility, creating 77 new child care spaces on the province’s South Shore. Susan Corkum-Greek, Minister of Opportunities and Social Development and MLA for Lunenburg, made the announcement at the centre on July 27 on behalf of Brendan Maguire, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development. For rural and small-town communities where families often wait years for a licensed space, capital investments like this one are what turn expansion targets into rooms children can actually walk into.
