Manitoba announces largest ECE wage boost in its history – up to $5 an hour more
A conference of child care educators erupted in cheers as Manitoba announced what the province calls the largest boost to child care wages in its history, with some educators seeing increases as high as $5 per hour. The new wage grid, retroactive to April 1, is supported by an added $60.4 million in provincial and federal funding, and for the first time wages will meet the MCCA salary scale for front-line positions and most administrator roles.
