Supporting children who have experienced trauma can be complex and emotionally demanding work. This workshop examines different types of trauma and how they can affect children’s behaviour, regulation, relationships, and learning within school-age care settings. Participants will gain insight into how trauma may present in everyday moments and why traditional behaviour approaches are often ineffective. The session also offers practical, trauma-informed strategies to help educators create safe, predictable, and supportive environments that foster connection, promote healing, and support both children and the adults who care for them.
