Ottawa and Alberta have agreed to a one-year extension of their early learning and child care agreements, keeping federal support in place while longer-term arrangements are worked out. More than $1.17 billion in federal funding is allocated to Alberta for 2026–27, helping maintain $15-a-day average parent fees in licensed programs across the province.
